It’s here, it’s here! Happiest of Happy Valentine’s Days everybody! Since I’m going to go ahead and assume you already got your craft on for today, I’m finally sharing the full scoop on the Valentine-y shoot I did with Mary Costa Photography and the ladies of Garlic My Soul! You saw previews here and here, but this is the real deal! See that heart cake? AMAZING! You can find the full tutorial for that right here. Now that’s a cake that shouldn’t just be delegated to February 14th. Check out our cute little shoot and see if you can spot the DIYs too!
But first, let’s start at the very beginning! Here’s the low down. Every year, inspired by I Am Baker, these ladies make a heart cake and this year I was lucky enough to help them out with a few DIYs to complement that seriously awesome treat! You can check out their shoot from last year, I’m kind of obsessed with it (There’s fringe streamers involved, people!). But this year we went outdoors (Thanks for being so awesome, LA!) and got our sunset on!
Those napkin rings are cardboard tubes, wrapped with sequin trim and topped with a mylar fringe pom!
LOOK at that cake!! AH! Remember, you can make it too if you go right here.
Aren’t these two adorable!? Oh how I wish I could pull off that red lipstick!
And there the was one giant shiny piñata, hanging out in the sunset.
