It’s the BEST WEEKEND OF THE YEAR! Every year around my birthday, Pixar releases a new movie. I always call it my “birthday movie” and we always go see it. In case you didn’t know, we’re big Pixar fans around here. Haha! Getting to visit the campus was one of the highlights of my career! I even walked down the aisle to the theme from UP! Ok, done now. In addition to that, it’s Father’s Day and Tuesday is my birthday AND we’ve been working on so many fun secret things! EEEP! Shaping up to be a mighty awesome and crazy summer, I’d say. But before you head out on your weekend adventures… in honor of the big release this weekend…

What’s your favorite Pixar movie!?

I gotta know. My most favorite is UP followed closely by Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc. And I also just love all the Toy Stories. So really, all of them. Jeff’s is Finding Nemo. Samantha and Quinn (my niece who has been interning for us this week on her summer break!) agreed on Monsters, Inc as their fave. And Annie’s and Chelsea’s favorite is Toy Story! So… what’s yours!?!?

UP is my favorite too! There hasn’t been a single watching where I haven’t cried. We’re big on Monsters Inc in this house, and I think Toy Story will always have a place in my heart. Pixar movies do more than have amazing animation; they have really thoughtful stories that are good for everyone. We will definitely be going to Finding Dory now that it’s out in theaters! 🙂

    • Kelly

Agreed Erin!! I love the stories behind them. Each one is so well thought out!

  • Heather B

UP for sure! Closely followed by all of them! But in reality Toy Story is a very close contender to UP. And I actually LOVED that you walked down the aisle to the music from UP / have been trying to incorporate something similar for my wedding next year!

    • Kelly

Ahh! That’s amazing!! I’m so so happy I chose to walk down the aisle to it. Congrats on your upcoming wedding!!!!!!

  • Erin Maree

I just saw Finding Dory and loved it! It was so sweet and fun 🙂 the new characters are amazing and just added this awesome element to it. I also loved the short beforehand “Piper” it was so cute and the animation was amazing!!!
I love Big Hero 6 (does that count? I have no idea if its Disney Pixar or not!) its my favourite animated film (I watched it on Netflix then bought the DVD and made my parents and sisters watch it and they all love it as well) and it just makes me so happy when I watch it! I mean Baymax is the best sidekick and I just want to cuddle him 🙂
Monsters Inc does have a special place in my heart as it was the first movie my Dad took me on a daddy daughter date and it was so special (we later saw Monsters University when it came out).

    • Kelly

Aw yay! I’m glad you liked it!! Can’t wait to see it. And I LOOOOVE the shorts, I can’t wait to see this one!

  • Tiffany W.

Finding Nemo is my favorite! The underwater adventure + characters with short fins + the bonds between characters (friends, father/son, all the characters helping to find nemo) are the best themes.

I can’t wait to see Finding Dory!

  • Helen

Toy Story forever and always! The OG of Pixar haha!

I think my favorite has to be the original Toy Story. It was just so good… so many memories there! I love the stuff you’ve linked for the weekend, too. Digging the metallic lipstick but I would never, EVER purchase from the scandalscam that is Lime Crime, no matter what cute stuff they have!

    • Kelly

Good call Hannah! I was so mesmerized by the metallic that I didn’t even check the link. Just removed. Thank you for the heads up! And also, agree about the Toy Story memories!! SO many!

  • Catherine

I love the Incredibles, I love how everything in that movie was so mid-century looking.
Finding Nemo is one of my faves and Cars!

    • Amy

LOVE the Incredibles! I think that one and a Bug’s Life are the most underrated Pixar films!

  • Morgan

A Bug’s Life was my favorite when growing up! All the Monster’s Inc movies are good too though.

  • Kristina B

I hate to be basic but Nemo is totally my fave because I am the biggest aquarium nerd. The jokes in Finding Nemo are just a hoot and a half also SHARK BAIT OOHAHA!
I CANNOT WAIT to see the whale shark in the new one!!

And full circle to your dad joke card in the pic, did you see the Father of the Bride house is for sale!?

  • Michelle

It’s really hard with this one because I basically love them all! But I have seen Finding Nemo so many times, that must mean something!

My wedding was “Up” themed! Our guestbook was a painting of the house and all our guests signed their names in the balloons, which is now hanging in our living room. 🙂

But if I had to choose, it would have to be Monsters University. It might be the most colorful Pixar movie ever! Wall-E is a very close second.

  • Carrie @ The Cake Blog

Hands down favorite is Monsters Inc, but love them all. Thanks for the link love today Kelly! Yay for Cake Gems!

  • Elise

I love them all, but I think Ratatouille wins by a thinly sliced zucchini. French bread for the win.

  • Donna

Definitely Finding Nemo! I’ve watched it an embarrassing number of times and I could recite it word for word at one point. *covers eyes* Oooo I also loved The Incredibles! Can you believe I’ve never seen UP?! Need to rectify that ASAP.

    Happy weekend!

  • Whitney

Did anyone mention Wall-E!?! I often randomly yell Eeee-va! And Ratatouille is my second favorite. I don’t understand Up being anyone’s favorite… I cry so hard at the beginning that it ruins the rest for me. Even the beautiful film score makes me a little weepy.
