When we were in Mexico a few months back, I was so inspired by all the fringe trim I saw on clothes in the boutiques we went in! I mean, I guess it’s not a *new* thing that I like fringe but… I had this vision of upgrading a basic pair of shorts with fringe ever since. Since I bought a bunch for the wall hanging I’m working on (coming soon!) and now that it’s 90+ degrees every day, it seemed like the perfect time to bring ’em to life. This project only took about 15 minutes and no sewing required!! Look how cute they turned out!
DIY Fringe Shorts
Total Time: 15 minutes
Supplies
Shorts (with a flat seam like these)
Fringe (at least four feet)
Scissors
Fabric glue
Directions
1. Lie shorts so leg seam is flat and centered. Measure fringe to length of seam and cut four pieces.
2. Use fabric glue to attach two pieces of fringe to shorts on either side of seam. Add a dot of glue to the end of fringe to secure. Let dry.
3. Flip shorts over and glue other two pieces of fringe to seam. Add a dot of glue to the end and let dry.
4. Cut excess fringe from bottom if needed.
