Are you ready, folks!? From here on out it’s going to be all holiday all the time, and I’m kicking it off with an awesome holiday craft party I hosted in partnership with Martha Stewart Living! I invited a few awesome ladies to join in on getting our craft on for the holidays with. It probably comes as no surprise that I don’t do Christmas traditional, so I looked to my gumball stirrers (remember them!?) for inspiration! A little black and white stripes, the Martha Stewart Jingle Brights ornament collection and a whole lot of pops of honeycomb color. BAM! Christmas, the Studio DIY way. Read more about the party below, and find the (AMAZING!) free printable invitations, recipe + craft cards that Sarah created to help you all throw your own party too!
One of the “off the tree” ornamnet projects that Martha Stewart had created was an ornament chandelier. We added our own spin by incorporating honeycombs!
Mix & A-Mingle was the theme, and we all sat down on fluffy floor pillows to craft up some holiday decor. A great tip for hosting a craft party is to pre-prepare as much as possible, to make it more easy and fun for your guests. I pre-strung all the ornaments and honeycombs with fishing line so they were ready to go. (Tomorrow I’ll be talking all about the step-by-step for creating an ornament chandelier of your own!) Then, I used the supplies as a part of the table decor. BAM! Multitasking.
After all the crafting was done, we hung up everyone’s chandeliers. I loved how different they all turned out. LOOK at those colors!
And the sweets and treats, how could I forget!? The gumball stirrers (Get the full tutorial here!) made an appearance to jazz up our drinks, and those cookies!? Well, you know I have to bring the color palette down to every last detail, so I picked up some sanding sugar and sprinkles to match! They were lemon spice cookies and super easy to make (and delicious!). Get the recipe here (but keep a watch on them depending on your oven, mine were done far in advance of the time listed there!)!
Psst.. print these gorgeous recipe cards at the bottom of the post!!
