Why don’t more snow cones involve sprinkles!? We wanted allllllll the frozen treats at our pool party, so we made these in addition to our tropical pops!
Have you ever made snow cones? It’s SUPER easy and you can snag a snow cone machine for about $30 on Amazon! It’s a great investment for outdoor parties all summer long because you can change up colors, flavors and add fun straws and sprinkles too! I love a “make your own” station at an event because it’s always fun to build your own dessert.
Unicorn Snow Cones
Ingredients
- Strawberry Simple Syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 pint strawberries stems removed, sliced
- Red food coloring
- Pineapple Simple Syrup:
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup crushed pineapple juice included
- Yellow food coloring
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- Blue food coloring
- 1 teaspoon all natural blue berry extract we used Pure Blueberry Extract by OliveNation*
- *You can use fresh blueberries to make this simple syrup but the resulting color will be purple instead of blue! If you are looking for a true bright blue color for your sno cone syrup the extract and food coloring combo is the way to go!

They were sooooo yummy!!! Of course, you could use store bought syrups too, but if you want to make them yourself, you gotta try those recipes! Reading that back, that was so Ina Garten of me. “If you can’t infuse your snow cones with berries picked from your garden behind your South Hampton abode, store bought is fine.” Hahahah!
We’ve got one final pool party DIY post comin’ at ya later this week! And it also involves ice!! 😉
p.s. A DIY Dunkaroo Bar!
