Stretching Room Portrait Costume Ideas
When you enter the Haunted Mansion, you go into the Stretching Room where portraits stretch before your eyes. These characters make for an exciting and unique group costume!
Tightrope Walker Costume
The tightrope walker, also sometimes known as Umbrella Girl or Sally Slater, is perhaps the most notable of the stretching room portraits. There’s lots of premade costumes like this tightrope walker dress or this skirt, or you can DIY your own.
To DIY a tightrope walker costume, find an old dress or white skirt and add flowers using iron-on transfer material in green and burgundy. Then, add pink bows to the sleeves.

Constance Hatchaway Portrait
The old woman sitting atop her husband’s grave, sometimes known as Constance Hatchaway and other times as Abigaile Platecleaver, requires only a few simple items from Grandma’s closet or the thrift store!
Pair a long dress in a gray or navy with a dark purple shawl clasped with a cameo pin. Add pearl earrings, black heels and a rose. Don’t forget to spray your hair gray, too, if you need!
