It’s the final countdown (Cue music). Who’s ready for Christmas? I’m not even close! This week I wanted to bring you a few super easy edibles that can grace your holiday table… if they make it that far! How fun are these ornament donut holes!? Store bought donut holes, sparkling in sugar with a tootsie roll on top! It really is that simple, my friends. No excuses!
Supply List:
Plain Donut Holes
Glaze (I made mine using 1 cup powdered sugar + 2tbsp milk. Stir until smooth and add more milk if needed to thin. This makes enough for about 1 1/2 to 2 dozen donut holes, depending on their size.)
Sanding Sugar (In various colors for the “bulbs” and gold or silver for the topper)
Tootsie Rolls
White Chocolate, melted
To Make:
Roll a donut hole in the glaze until completely covered using a fork to help it along.
Carefully lift it out of the glaze, on the fork, and allow excess glaze to drip off. Transfer to your bowl of sanding sugar and roll around until covered. Transfer to a piece of wax paper.
Cut a Tootsie Roll in half and dip in the glaze. You only need to cover the sides and the top, not the bottom. Roll around in your gold or silver sprinkles until covered.
Using a toothpick, place a small amount of white chocolate on the bottom of your tootsie roll. Carefully push aside a small little area of sprinkles on your donut hole and adhere your topper directly to the donut. Let this to set completely. If you don’t, you’ll have sprinkle covered hands and your toppers won’t stick!
