Time for another round of Houses I Want To Live In. Got a good dose of LA houses in here since I spend 98% of my time on Redfin these days. But most importantly is that chateau in France. Prepare yourself before you scroll!!!!!! Enjoy!
Note: All photos are courtesy of the listings I’ve linked at the bottom of each section! Above photo from the Greece property at the end of the post!
A Magical Nine Bedroom Chateau in Albertville, France
Asking price: $730,000
Hello. I send both Jeff and Lauren a French chateau for us to buy at least once a day. But this one had me, literally, screaming.
Scroll and come back. Are you still alive? PURE AND UTTER MAGIC. And it’s cheaper than a 2 bedroom house here in LA. *mind explodes*
We are causally not so casually hatching a plan to own some real estate in France at some point and while we probably don’t need a nine bedroom chateau, I can only dream of finding something a tenth as magical some day!!

An Architectural 1917 Mansion in Pasadena, CA
Asking price: $6,750,000
Saw this one and told Jeff it was time to rob a bank. Can you imagine getting the chance to breathe some new life back into this baby!?!? I love that it mixes so many architectural elements and styles with those beams, arches, French doors, fireplaces in every bedroom and that MOULDING!
I truly hope whoever purchases this home doesn’t gut it and remove all the original details. It was designed by Reginald Davis Johnson and I loved learning more about him here.

A Thatched Cottage with a Yellow Door in Seeogue, Ireland
Asking Price: $100,000
There is so much interesting history in the description of this property that I’m going to primarily direct you there. But I also loved that they included several old photos of the brothers who spent their life maintaining its grounds. And that dreamy yellow door.

A 1920s Spanish Estate in the Hollywood Hills, CA
Asking Price:$1,600,000
This listing hooked me, similar to the above, when they included a photo of the original house!!! Sadly, a lot of the character has been removed on the outside but the living quarters on the inside are still quite magical.
I love that this house has so many little nooks and overlooks down to the next floor, and TONS of natural light. If I bought this house (and I considered it, haha!), I’d hand that original photo to my contractor and say “we’re recreating this.” It’s just so elegant. Someone bring some of those details back!

A Craftsman Attic with POTENTIAL in Glendale, CA
Asking Price: $1,460,000
So, I said “I don’t think I could ever live in a craftsman” and then 2 hours later this one popped up when I was browsing Redfin. And, while I still don’t think I could live in a craftsman… this ATTIC almost made me throw that idea out the window.
With the little set of stairs that leads up to it and the balcony!? Feels like the most whimsical spot for a playroom. Imagine it painted white with the beams left wood!? Phew, it’s too much for me to handle. So felt like I had to include it here!

A Restored 3 Bedroom Villa in Lefkada, Greece
Asking Price: $541,000
*passes out*
Now THIS is how you do a restoration! The wood, the stone, countryside views. The dreamiest summer getaway hands down. Probably the only one in the bunch where I wouldn’t change a single thing.

Oh no, my Mamma Mia fantasies just got re-activated. Also, I have to know why you hate Craftsman? It’s my absolute favorite style!
Kelly says
I love craftsmen!! But the style doesn’t fit my personal style. I love higher ceilings and softer lines and details and I find (most) craftsmen have much heavier woodwork, details, lower ceilings etc. Beautiful, just not for me!

Omg that last house is PERFECTION. I’m in love. I just want to go to nearby market and eat lunch in the backyard.

Right!?!? Stunning.
