We’re off!!!!! Jeff and I are jetting off to Santorini and the Amalfi Coast for a belated (and much needed) honeymoon! On my last two trips to Europe, I’ve brought MASSIVE suitcases (Most of us Lanzas are chronic over-packers.) and it has been miserable carting them around and on public transportation. So, we vowed to only pack a carry-on this time and were terrified of only being able to bring like… one shirt. But! I learned two things: 1) You can fit a lot more in a carry-on than I thought and 2) You don’t really need all that much anyway! For you fellow over-packers, I’m here to give you a bit of hope with a peek at what I packed and how I plan to wear it all on our trip!

My biggest tip for packing lighter is packing within a color scheme. I usually pick one or two neutrals (white and chambray in this case) and add in a few pops of color (pink, yellow and a bit of green). I typically prefer shorts/pants + tops to dresses, so that’s why my suitcase is heavy on tops and bottoms with only two dresses for any fancier dinners we might attend! Here’s a peek at how I plan to mix and match the clothes I brought to last us for 10+ days!

And there it is! There’s even more outfits where that came from, which makes me happy! I ended up throwing in one additional pair of shoes at the last minute, and a sweater that I’m wearing on the plane. Otherwise, this is it!!! Be sure to follow along with our trip on Instagram! It’s gonna be GOOD!

I am a chronic over packer too, but whenever I pare down and try to mix & match I never want to rewear things. Do you plan on doing laundry during your trip? I’m headed to the Amalfi Coast in two weeks for my honeymoon so I can’t wait to hear more about it!

I’m a total over packer! Congrats on fitting all this in one suitcase! Woohoo!

Ugh. I ALWAYS overpack, mainly bc I procrastinate & just end up throwing in everything I have. Toiletries in a big huge “purse?” And what about pajamas? I guess it IS a honeymoon… (wink wink). =)

You’re style is so cheerful! Target also carries a lemon wedge purse…sometimes there are hidden gems in the girl’s department! Bon voyage! http://www.target.com/p/girls-lemon-slice-crossbody-bag-w-zipper/-/A-1666976

Hi! I’m going on a trip to Santorini in September and loved reading your tips about Santorini. I was wondering, now that you’re back, is there anything you wished you had packed or anything you didn’t end up wearing? I’m dreading have to fit 2 weeks of clothes into a carry-on!

So exciting!!! Yes! So I didn’t wear my heels once! For me, there was just too much walking/too many cobblestone paths/etc. it just didn’t feel conducive to heel-wearing unless I wanted to fall on my face. And on that same note, just make sure you bring comfortable shoes that are preferably not flip flops, found sandals were hard to keep on my feet on some of the stone paths/stairs. I lived in the J. Crew flats and ban.do sneakers. It was much warmer in the evenings than I thought it would be (I’m used to it getting super cool here in LA after sunset), so I rarely wore any of the jackets/sweaters I brought. Sunscreen was SUPER expensive on the island so if you can bring some small bottles, it might be worth it.
Otherwise, I really wore everything I brought and didn’t feel like there was anything I didn’t bring that I wish I had! Hope that helps! Have a great trip!!!
