Approximately 1,000 years ago, I typed into Google “step stools that aren’t ugly” and guess what I found? Ugly step stools! Haha! You see, I needed one for our closet so I could reach the upper shelves. A few zillion Internet deep dives and a couple awesome suggestions from you guys later, and I’ve rounded up 12 step stools that really aren’t ugly. You guys said you wanted to see what I found, so here it is! They span all sorts of price points, from $20 to $400 and a lot of them come in multiple colors! Hope ya find one you like!

As you can see from the photo above, I went with #4, the blush one. SHOCKER, I know. 😉 #11 was a close second though. And you could have so much DIY fun with #10! Have any favorites??
These are all so cute – I love the mentality that just because something is utilitarian doesn’t mean it has to be ugly! Even step stools deserve to be cute 🙂
LOVE THESE! Just letting you know, number 7 and 9 on the list don’t match the photos. I think you switched them!
Thanks for this post! Seconding what Alexandra said – even everyday objects can be cute! I was drawn to #2 and #6.
The OXO Tot Stool is not quite as cute but it COMES IN HOT PINK: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0759SNRPB/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?th=1
I think step stools can be so boring, but look at number 9! This one is so stylish!

These are all so great! I love each step tool that you shared, thank you.
Oooh! I would have never thought to spice up my closet or any space where I need to reach up high, with a cute little step stool. I definitely need a non-ugly step stool now haha! 😉

This chair is convenient, I like it.
I’ve had the IKEA one (#3) in wood for years. currently use it also as a seat by the door to put shoes on, very sturdy.
IKEA doesn’t recommend painting it but they do have “glazing paint” as a stain if you want other colors
