With our new studio, we decided to start “small” and go with the smallest room to renovate first… my office! It’s coming along super quickly (BAM!) so I wanted to share a little inspo with you before the big reveal. And also, I need light fixture decision help!! My girl Cyn has been helping me design and source some amazing stuff for this room and it’s gonna be GOOD!
My office is going to function as both my workspace and a meeting room. It’s small and has no windows, but we aren’t letting that stop us from adding some (ok, a lot of) fun color!! You can see the before (EEEEEK!) up there. We’ve already replaced the floors with this vinyl whitewashed flooring and now it’s time to tackle the rest. See where we’re headed below!

Surprise surprise, there’s going to be a lot of PINK! It’s gonna be painted pink, in fact. We’re thinking a suppppper pale peach-y blush. On top of that, we’re currently dreaming up a really fun, organic stripe mural for one or two of the walls. I’ll have a large desk (it’s actually a dining table!) since it needs to function as a meeting table too and then we’ll add all sorts of pops of color in the chairs and styling on the wall behind me.
We’re turning the wall behind me into (faux) built-in storage. to hide some of the less pretty things I need to keep around, and as a place to display some of my favorite props and art. Planning on painting it pink too so it blends with the walls and perhaps even add a faux rose quartz top to the cabinets!? We’ll see.
The below items are already on their way to us and I am SO excited about how it’s shaping up. Especially that RUG!!!!!!
1. We Are All Magical by Alja Horvat | 2. Moroccan Lidded Basket
3. Rose Coloured Glasses by Jasmine Dowling | 4. Quartz Dining Table
5. Summer Colors by LEOVY | 6. Teal Glam Chair
7. Moroccan Rug | 8. Banana Lipstick by Yellow Owl Workshop
9. Double Rainbow by Ampersand Design Studio
10. Flamingo Rattan Chair | 11. Modern Console Table

There’s one smaller wall in the space, next to my door, that we’re keeping open to use as an ongoing inspiration board! It’s in my direct eye line from where I sit so I’ll get to look it at all day as I plan out future posts and products!

And finally, a quick poll: light fixture do you guys like better for this space??? Left or right?! I know we’ll have to see it in the space to decide but curious to hear which is your fave!
1. Pendant Lamp| 2. Globe Chandelier
And that’s that! Gonna be revealing this room SUPER soon and I’m so excited to see it all come together!!
Rachel Castro says

I honestly thought the top photo with the flamingo was your done office. Looks very Kelly! I like the globe chandelier!
Kelly says
Haha! I wish!! It’s so pretty!!
Alexandra says
I can’t wait to see the finished office – and I’m team globe lamp!!
Danielle says
The pendant lamp! 😍
Natalie says
Globe chandelier all the way! I feel like it will lighten the feel of the room up which is key if there aren’t any windows! Can’t wait to see the reveal!
Kelly says
Excellent point! Thanks Natalie!
Stephenie says
Love them both but see you having #1 in your office. I think it’s more you.😉 tassel and all.
Mandy says
I like both but what are the dimensions of the room? The pendant light is half the size of the globe one! But the globe fixture is also the same width as the table/desk so if its directly overtop then it will be way too big. Also, are you having additional lighting? The pendant has two bulbs that will be diffused more while the globe has 5 exposed bulbs! If there’s other lighting (recessed?) and it’s more for decorative purposes – definitely the pendant!
Adriana says
I vote pendant lamp!!! Love all of this, so cute! It’s gonna be perfect.
Brooke says
Globes for sure!!!

Very excited to see your new space. Very inspirational!

Pendant lamp!!
Melissa says
Don’t forget your fifth wall… personally not a fan of white ceilings, carrying the blush onto the ceiling (if you can) may visually expand the space. If you were to use the pendant a fun stencil around the canopy could be a fun and unexpected touch. The globe light looks more functional. Either way they are both great! Can’t wait to see the fun you bring to your space!!!
Jenna says
Both are so cute, but I think the pendant makes more sense in an office/over a desk because of it’s scale. Keep in mind that in a room w/no windows, you’re probably going to want a floor lamp and desk lamp as well in here. And if you can, dimmable cans! If you can’t do cans, there are some more modern track lights you could do. (Ikea has some cute white ones). Layers of different lighting types are really important in a room, particularly when there’s no natural light source. (Interior designer here, hence ALL the thoughts, lol). Love your style & can’t wait to see the finished space!
Michelle says
Love it! The colour palette is perfect, I really like the white walls with the bright and colourful accessories!

I like the globe chandelier. I think incorporating some reflective materials like the brass and the glass globes is a must in a space that is small and has no windows. Have you considered a mirror for the space? Maybe a windowpane mirror? I found a bunch on wayfair. Can’t wait to see what you do!!!
Saffron says
I think both are gorgeous, but the pendant is the best I reckon 😉
I CANNOT wait until the final reveal! 🙂
