I teased you with these bags this morning and here I finally bring you the full DIY! No matter what sorts of valentines you’re sending this year, they could all most certainly use a glitter heart bag as a part of their packaging! This is seriously the easiest DIY. Freezer paper rocks my world. (Oh, what an exciting life I lead!) This idea can be adapted to all sorts of things too. Confetti for birthdays, stars for the Oscars, shamrocks for St. Patrick’s Day… ok, you get it! Let’s do this!
Heart Paper Punch
Punch your freezer paper with your heart punch to make however many heart stencils you need. Cut out each stencil into a small square.
Iron your heart stencils to your bag, glossy side down. Slip an extra piece of freezer paper inside the bag to prevent anything from leaking through to the other side. If you’re using multiple colors, cover all the hearts you’re planning on using for one color with mod podge and sprinkle with glitter. Shake off excess and let dry.
Repeat this step with your other colors until all your hearts are glitter-fied. Once they have all dried for about 30 minutes, go ahead and cover them with another coat of Mod Podge to seal on that glitter. (I always suggest doing this because Jeff has banned me from using glitter in the house unless I seal it. It is not necessary but really makes a difference with the messiness factor!)
Peel off your stencils and reveal your perfect hearts! Then let the Mod Podge dry completely.

Have you ever made freezer paper stencils before? They are my fave! I’ve also monogrammed bags with them.

Love this! Where do you find your muslin bags???
The small bags are from Paper Source (online or in store!). The larger one was actually given to me with a gift and I upcycled it! =) You can find similar ones
I love these bags! I’ve never tried freezer paper stencils before, but I definitely want to now 🙂 Glitter is the best!
