LA is pretty excited to join the ranks of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams locations and Jeff and I popped by to give it a test run. Actually, this was our third trip there in one week. But, you know, priorities people! I love a shop that looks as good as their ice cream tastes and Jeni’s knocked it out of the park. The flavors are delicious (Don’t ask me to pick a favorite), THE FRESH MADE WAFFLE CONES (I DIE!), and the salted caramel ice cream sammie. You gotta try them all. But here’s a peek into the new Los Feliz shop if I haven’t convinced you to stop by already…

Samantha, the Operations Manager here at Studio DIY, is a Jeni’s devotee. Since I can’t make decisions, let me recommend her favorite flavors: Buckeye State, Salty Caramel, Seven Layer Bar and Goat Cheese with Red Cherries
That Buckeye State flavor, though. YOWZA! My Mom is an (Ohio State) buckeye herself, ya know. Good things and people hail from the great state of Ohio, clearly! If you want to try your hand at making your owns scoops at home, Jeni’s has an AMAZING ice cream cookbook (and ice cream dessert cookbook) to help you out. AND if Jeni’s hasn’t made their way to your state yet, you can order online, too.

(p.s. I tried to swipe their ice cream prints off the wall (and that neon sign, too) but decided to be kind and leave them for the rest of you to enjoy. 😉 )
p.p.s. My shirt is from here, pants from Zara (similar here)!
Jeni’s is my absolute favorite ice cream! So good.
Seven Layer Bar, absolutely, but I also love Queen City Cayenne, Wildberry Lavender (so weird, but so good), and the Black Currant Sorbet. I have not tried the Goat Cheese with Cherries but that sounds potentially amazing.
That looks delicious! I’m jealous I don’t live in the area.
OHIO represent! Also, salted caramel for life.
Matt was craving ice cream last night, and so we drove all the way to Los Feliz to try Jeni’s. I had the Goat Cheese and Cherries (OMG) and Wildberry Lavender, and he had Black Cat Espresso, Milk Chocolate No. 3 (the one with curry sipices) and Brown Butter. So glad he got that craving and that they’re open til 11! Can’t wait for our next late night ice cream date.
