What is a Devil’s Delight Milkshake you ask? Well, let me tell you. It’s a milkshake that involves ice cream with pretzels, peanut butter, dark chocolate… YEP. ALL that goodness!!! And I have Seattle Chocolates to thank for this, because their Devil’s Delight Truffle Bar inspired it, and it’s all crushed up in there too. Because you guys, this chocolate is the bomb diggity. As in the “don’t you dare touch my bar or we’re gonna have problems” kinda good. Plus you help to do good while you eat it. (More on that below!) These milkshakes would be super fun to serve at a Halloween party or while watching scary movies this October, or just for any Friday night that needs some major amping up. Let’s roll!

We’ve been stocking Seattle Chocolates in our house for a long time now for a few reasons. One, everything I’ve had from their wide chocolate repertoire is unreal. And two, for every purchase they donate a serving of food to someone in need. So, essentially, you’re giving back whilst eating chocolate and I just can’t think of a better combination than that, can you? For Halloween they sent over three of their spooky bars: Dead Sea Salt (Oh yeah, I will always take salt on my chocolate), Choc-o-Lantern (Kinda like a pumpkin spice latte in chocolate bar form. MHM!) and Devil’s Delight, the one that inspired our milkshake adventures.

Try them all, and then make this ice cream and turn it into a milkshake. Deal?

ingredients-600x57

2 cups cream
2 cups half and half
3/4 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
4 Seattle Chocolates Devil’s Delight Truffle Bars
1/2 cup lightly chopped pretzels

1. Whisk together cream, half and half, sugar and vanilla.
2. Freeze in ice cream machine according to manufacture’s instructions.
3. Place peanut butter in a piping bag fitted with a medium round tip. Chop the bars into 1/2 inch chunks.
4. Stir half of the chunks into the ice cream. Melt the remaining half in a microwave safe bowl in 20 second intervals till smooth. Add in the chopped pretzels and toss to coat. Pour into the ice cream. It will harden a little once it hits the ice cream. With a spoon, distribute the chocolate pretzel mixture and break up any large chunks.
5. Transfer the ice cream from the machine into a freezer safe container 1/3 of the mixture at a time, piping a large swirl of peanut butter between the layers. Freeze for at least 8 hours to finish hardening.

To make the milkshakes, combine 4 cups of ice cream with 2/3 cup of milk in a blender. Blend till smooth. Pour into glasses. Top with whipped cream, melted peanut butter, melted Seatle Chocolates Devil’s Delight Truffle Bar and pretzels. Serve. YUMMM!
