If you aren’t really into costumes, but still sort of want to be in the Halloween spirit, I have three fun DIY last minute costume accessories for you that you can pair with any outfit for work, school or another event! All with a little pun action because, well, we clearly love puns. You can be Eye Candy or Crown Jewels or even Twinkle Toes, and you can make ’em all with the trusty Cricut! Pun perfection. Let’s get cracking!
DIY Eye Candy Costume
Cricut Explore
Cricut Design Space Software
12”x12” Standard Grip Cricut Mat
Printer
White Cardstock
Sunglasses with a large, thick rim
Hot Glue
1. Open up this project in Cricut Design Space. Click the “Make It Now” button and print out the candy design. If this is your first time using the Print Then Cut feature, you’ll have to calibrate your Cricut. (Super easy, just follow the instructions on the screen!) Otherwise, follow the instructions on the screen for printing onto cardstock.***
2. Place your printed design on the Cricut cutting mat and follow the instructions on the screen to cut it out.
3. Hot glue the candy all around the rim of the sunglasses. I overlapped mine to cover the rim completely, but ensure the candy doesn’t cover too much of the lens so you can still see! You’re done! Wear with a bright colored dress and candy necklaces!
***A few of you have mentioned that you don’t have a Cricut and would love a way to still be able to make the projects I share in partnership with them. Good news! I have a solution for you thanks to the new Print and Cut feature. If you’d like to make one of these projects and you don’t have a Cricut, follow the above steps through the printing step. Then, hand cut the design and continue with the remaining steps. I will warn you that this will be a bit more laborious as you will be hand cutting everything, but it’s a great solution for those of you who’ve asked!
DIY Twinkle Toes Costume
Cricut Explore
Cricut Design Space Software
12”x12” Standard Grip Cricut Mat
Printer
White Cardstock
Craft/Jewelry Wire
Sandals with a front strap, or Flats/Pumps
Shoe Clip Base + Small Piece of Felt (Only if using flats/pumps)
Scissors
Hot Glue
1. Open up this project in Cricut Design Space. Click the “Make It Now” button and print out the star design.
3. Hot glue a star to a piece of wire about six inches long, and then another star on the back (so it’s double sided). Do this about 6-8 times for each shoe.
4. Arrange all the stars together as desired, at different heights, and twist the wires together. Trim the excess wire at the bottom so they are all the same length.
5. If you are using sandals with a strap in the front (like the ones shown): Twist the wires around the strap of your shoe and back onto themselves to secure. Then adjust the stars as desired to make your twinkle toe flair! If you are using flats or pumps: Trim the collective wires down to about one inch longer than you want them to be. Fold the extra inch forward so it is perpendicular to the stars. Hot glue that to the shoe clip base. Then glue a small circle of felt overtop to cover the ends of the wires. Attach clip to shoe and adjust stars as desired.
DIY Crown Jewels Costume
Cricut Explore
Cricut Design Space Software

If this is your first time using the Print Then Cut feature, you’ll have to calibrate your Cricut. (Super easy, just follow the instructions on the screen!) Otherwise, follow the instructions on the screen for printing onto cardstock.***
2. Place your printed design on the Cricut cutting mat and follow the instructions on the screen to cut it out.
3. Glue the jewels to the paper crown as desired and you’re done! Wear with a cocktail dress and lots of bling-y bling!

These are adorable. You are a master at the hot glue gun. I would have had glue ALL over those glasses.
