A few years back we shared one of our most popular printables to date, some leftover pie labels! This year we decided it was time for a revamp… so we teamed up with McCormick and added a little humor this time around! ‘Cause these pie boxes, you guys, are graced with quotes from your favorite romantic comedies because, I don’t know about you, but I generally feel the need to profess my deep, undying LOVE for pie on Thanksgiving. And now it’s talkin’ right back at me!
Plus, we’ve got a recipe for a chocolate pecan pie in there because, well, “I would be proud to partake of your pecan pie.” Enough said.
Click HERE to download and print the labels!
Pie Labels
Pie Boxes or Pie Box Template (I used the Martha Stewart template linked there, following their instructions but with the bottom of the box printed at 95% and the lid printed at 100%!)
Cardstock
Adhesive/Label Paper
Printer
Print out the box template and trace/cut it out of cardstock. Print out the pie labels on adhesive paper and cut out along the guidelines. Adhere to the top of each box. That’s it!!
And how could we have a post about romantic movie quotes without a pecan pie as an ode to When Harry Met Sally!? McCormick suggested their Decadent Chocolate Pecan Pie and it. was. so. good. They definitely hit the nail on the head calling it “decadent!” I’m the kind of person who always adds extra cinnamon because.. you know… IT IS the best, most festive spice but this didn’t even need it! Perfect amount of cinnamon, best smell wafting through the kitchen EVER and we didn’t even discuss the layer of chocolate yet. Never going back, you guys! See for yourselves…
1 Refrigerated pie crust
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 tbsps milk
4 eggs
3 tbsps butter
2 tsps McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp McCormick® Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp McCormick® Ground Allspice
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line 9-inch deep dish pie plate with pie crust. Bake 7 minutes. Remove crust from oven. Reduce oven temperature to 325°F.
2. Meanwhile, microwave chocolate chips and milk in medium microwavable bowl on HIGH 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Pour chocolate evenly over crust.
3. Beat eggs in large bowl. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Slowly pour mixture over chocolate layer. Place ring of foil around edges of crust to prevent over-browning.
4. Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until filling is puffed and center is still soft enough to move when shaken gently. Cool on completely wire rack.
But really, how much would your girlfriends DIE to be sent home with leftover pecan pie graced with a quote from their fave rom com? HERO STATUS!

Aw I love You’ve Got Mail! I just quoted the other day “I love NY in the fall. Makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would buy you a bouquet of freshly-sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.”
When Harry proposes to Charlotte on Sex and the City…love that. I think I cry over that episode every time.
Kelly says
Yes yes and YES! Crying all the tears, sharpening all the pencils. D. All of the above.

Super cute, Kel. And that pie looks delicious.

I’m not as big of a movie person, any chance you could tell us what quote goes with what movie? Also, just wondering if you could tell us who did the art work. These are so cute!
Kelly says
Hi Lynne! Thank you so much for mentioning that, we just updated with Kate’s credit! DOH! She did SUCH an amazing job. As far as movies go, we’ve got: You Had Me At Hello from Jerry Maguire, Big Mistake from Pretty Woman, I Wanted It 2 Be You from You’ve Got Mail, Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner from Dirty Dancing and Pecan Pie from When Harry Met Sally! Some of my FAVES! Highly recommended. 😉
Lynne says
Thanks! Now I have a movie marathon to go with the pie! 🙂
