I’m excited to start a new art series here today! I have a habit of collecting art, both in reality and digitally… on Pinterest, in my Instagram saves. I will never have enough walls in my home (or money in my pocket, ha!) for all the art I’d love to have and I’ve spent a few years trying to figure out the best way to share some of these artists with you all.
Art is tricky, because many pieces are one of a kind. Artists are human and take breaks, or do small launches only a few times a year. So doing a huge round up of art pieces I love never made sense.
Instead, I decided to simply start sharing a handful of artists who’s work I either own or admire. I’ll share both their current shop or portfolio and their Instagram, so that if they don’t currently have artwork to sell but you see and love their style, you can follow along for future launches or bookmark their site to come back to!
I’ll include paintings, illustration, photography, ceramics, fiber arts and anything else that falls under the “art” category. I will cover ALL price points throughout the series, though maybe not always in one post.
I hope you find some pieces for your home that you’ll love and have forever!
I discovered Abel Macais after seeing the mural work he was working on for a hotel here in Los Angeles. I couldn’t LOVE his work more, everything from the colorful paintings and murals, to the graphic prints. I cannot wait to own a piece of his some day.
Cindy Hsu Zell
When I was looking for a piece for between the arches in our living room, I ended up commissioning a piece from Cindy Hsu Sell after seeing her work in so many homes I admire. I needed a neutral piece, but I love that she does BOLD colors too, like deep blues, periwinkle, citron, emerald! Stunning.
That rainbow portrait print right there. PHEW! Took my breath away. She also does custom pieces, which would be such an incredible gift.
Castle & Things
If you’ve been to this site before, you likely know that I am a huge fan of Rachel Castle’s work. We have a lot of her art, and her textiles (bedding, pillows, blankets!) in our home. Sweatshirts too! I love that she does custom and original pieces, but also sells her work in the form of tea towels and prints to cover all different budgets!
I came across Ceyda Alasar when I was looking up interior illustrators and adored the village print above. She also has some really beautiful holiday art!
I first fell in love with Maheswari Janarthanan’s ceramics, but she has a ton of incredible and colorful prints too!
I cannot get over the incredible texture in these oil pastel pieces from Niki Dionne!! I have so many bookmarked and hope to one day own one!
I’m also hoping to do a kids version of this series, featuring art specific to kids spaces like nurseries, playrooms and bedrooms! Stay tuned!!
