This is one of those DIYs that I didn’t have planned at all. I was wandering around World Market and BAM, these colorful mini take-out boxes started screaming at me, “ADVENT CALENDAR!” So I spent a half hour picking out the colors I wanted (Decisions aren’t my strong suit.), and then this super simple advent calendar was born. You can fill the boxes with candy, small gifts, or hide messages with fun family activities on them. Or heck, just fell ’em with confetti! (Ok, maybe only I would want that?) Then stack ’em up however you please and get ready for December 1st to roll around!
25 Mini Take-Out Boxes (I bought mine at World Market. They have a ton of colors and patterns, in store and online!)
Number Stickers (I bought mine at Office Depot.)
Goodies for Filling!
Put your numbers on each box. And then fill the box. Ha! I feel silly writing out those easy insturctions!! But that’s IT!
Stack ’em or, better yet, let the kids stack ’em (and shake ’em, and peek into ’em….)

Aren’t these colors so great!? It’s sure to be a colorful Christmas indeed! (p.s. If you aren’t into advent, these tiny containers would also make great favors!)

Love the colors! I just stopped myself from impulse-purchasing a bunch of these yesterday and now I’m sort of wishing I hadn’t. It’s a very fine line between crazy hoarder and well-stocked craft blogger!
Haha! I know that feeling. I think if we all used the “well-stocked craft blogger” excuse more often, this behavior would be MUCH more acceptable, right? 😉
