As many of you have already seen in one way or another, we have decided with a mountain of mixed emotions to sell our Palm Springs home.
I realize this will come as a huge shock to many of you, and it was a bit of a surprise to us too. But here we are. Life happens and sometimes you have to roll with the punches!
While I noted early on that selling was always a possibility, it certainly wasn’t our first choice.
I put my whole heart, soul and energy into this home. Arguably, too much of it, which I’m learning is an ADHD tendency and not always a positive one.
I love this home and am so proud of the design work I did on it. But I also sacrificed a lot, mentally, physically and financially to do that. That’s an ADHD story for another day though, and an Everest of mine I have to continue to climb.
Ultimately, we decided that in this season of life, owning a second home was more of an undertaking than we wanted or could keep up with due to our family structure and personalities, our school obligations, our jobs, my health and our priorities which this experience has brought more clearly into focus.
Holding onto the home just didn’t add up for us anymore and as hard as it is to say goodbye to it (mostly to those doors *sobs*), it’s what’s best for us in the end.
I know that a lot of you were looking forward to renting it if we turned it into an Airbnb and that you will be very disappointed to read this. Know that I am disappointed too. I have always said that photos don’t do this home justice and you really have to be in it to feel the warmth of the space. I’m sad that you (and me frankly lol) won’t get to experience that anymore.
But sometimes the best decisions are the hardest ones, right?
Thank you for understanding and for coming on this journey with us. It was so fun for me to get to have a second chance at renovating and decorating a home after our LA home. To try new styles, to shop more sustainably and frankly to have more space to do it in.
If you are looking to purchase a home in the Palm Springs area, you can view the listing here. It will be open this weekend during Modernism Week if you’re in town. You can reach out to our real estate agent, Eileen Lanza, with questions. To answer what I imagine is a big one: Yes, there is an option to buy it furnished (fully or partially) with a few exceptions. I kindly ask that you only reach out to Eileen with serious inquiries.
In the meantime, the home is available to rent for the time being for photoshoots or small business retreats on Peerspace.
It’s been fun, folks! And hard. And I’ve learned a lot. Too much, actually. Ha. I’ll always have a special place for this home, and Palm Springs, in my heart even if this wasn’t a “forever” home for us after all. I know we’ll find one out there someday when the time is more right!
Thank you for reading and as always for your support!
